Small timber sales can be hard to sell as the volume of timber does not outweigh the cost of transport for the logger. Often when this is the case, landowners might only be able to complete a harvest if another timber sale is happening in the nearby area. If the logger is interested, both sales can be completed at the same time. In order to make these small sales visible to potential buyers, we have developed a referral system for small sales with the hope that anyone harvesting nearby might consider taking on an adjacent sale.
Woodlots are listed by county and township and acreage with a general location noted on a map of the county. Also listed is the timber type with a brief statement of what the landowner wishes to be harvested. As a logger or timber buyer, if you are interested in harvesting a particular small woodlot, email Winona at firstname.lastname@example.org and make reference to the referral number and she will contact the landowner who will contact you.
